Seward Peninsula

Another area that I hunt is the Seward Peninsula which is between Kotzebue and Nome.  The moose population is good, and the area has the most liberal moose season in the state (August 1 - Deptember 30 and November 1 - December 31).  The Western Arctic caribou herd which winters here, has increased to some 480,000 animals, and provides excellent caribou hunting.  Grizzly are abundant and grow quite large due to the abundant food supply.

We hunt on foot and with snowmachines when conditions permit.  Base camps are insulated tents. If it is to the hunter's advantage, we are also equipped to make spike camps.

Transportation is left to the professional.  Due to rising insurance costs and new regulations, I no longer fly clients in my own airplane.  It is nearly impossible to both fly and guide, and I prefer to guide.  Round-trip charter flights from Fairbanks, Kotzebue, or Dillingham to base camps cost $1,000USD. This is transportation for you and your trophies. I will schedule your flight, but payment is made directly to the air carrier.

Booking

To ensure you are booked into the hunt of your choice, you should reserve your hunt as far in advance as possible. To hold your reservation, a nonrefundable deposit of one-half the cost of the hunt is required. The balance of the cost of the hunt is due 30 days prior to the start of the hunt. If cancellation becomes necessary, and is made 90 days prior to the hunting date, your deposit will be applied to a hunt the following year, or you can substitute another hunter in your place.

We provide a variety of hunts and quality service for your hard-earned money.  Please contact me for a list of references.  Upon booking, I will provide you with a guideline packing list.  I feel confident that you'll be pleased with our service and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Seward Peninsula Economy Hunt

A special non-guided moose and caribou hunt will also be offered at the above dates for U.S. Citizens. Price is $2,5000 and includes 2 caribou. A bonus of $1,000 will be paid for killing a moose. These are great opportunities for the bow hunter.

*Mission Accomplished!

If you retain possession of the meat, it must be flown out of camp before or at the same time as your trophies, and it may be necessary to make a special charter for the meat at your expense. You also need to allow yourself time in Kotzebue for handling and shipping of the meat and trophies.

Meat left in camp will be given away locally and transported at my expense.
