Seven-Layer Salad
Granny would make this salad at holidays. It isvery good at the end of a big meal. I always thought it had the ability to calm a stuffed tummy.
Holiday Salad
Large can crushed pineapple in own juice
1/2 C Marachino cherries, cut in half
1/2 C ground walnuts
16 big marshmallows, cut into 1/8
1/2 pint Cool Whip
Cut marshmallows into eighths. Add pineapple to marshmallows; put in fridge for one hour. Drain. Fold mixture into Cool Whip. Add cherries and nuts. And that's all.
I know, there must be hundreds of variations of this salad - this one is my favorite.
Seven-Layer Salad
1st layer - spinach torn into pieces
2nd layer - 5 eggs, hard boiled and sliced
3rd layer - iceberg lettuce, shredded
4th layer - Hormel bacon bits, 2 jars
5th layer - red onions, thinly sliced
6th layer - 1 package frozen peas, thawed
7th layer - 1 cup mayonaise & 1 cup miracle whip
Topping - grated Monterey Jack cheese
