Meet your co-captains, Karen and Terry
As co-skippers on the yacht, Karen and Terry wear many different hats. They have owned, maintained and lived on boats together for the past 21 years. During this time they have sailed thousands of miles both in Alaska and Canada, down the West Coast of North America to Central Mexico, and continued for 2 ½ years throughout the South Pacific and French Polynesia.
Karen has enjoyed sailing these waters for 28 years, and knows many out of the way places to visit. Terry holds an U.S. Coast Guard certified 200 ton Masters License.
We enjoy all forms of wildlife viewing, including whale watching, birding and appreciating the myriad mammals and sea life of Southeast Alaska. We like to view black and brown bears from a respectful distance.
We love those sunny, warm and calm days just as much as the cloudy ones when you listen to the rain and read your book while sleeping late. When we are not sailing, our passion is to explore along the shore, hike on pristine and lonely trails, mess about in the dinghy or kayak and set the crab or shrimp pot. We enjoy sharing the "last frontier" with our guests, including all her great beauty, culture and history.
Karen loves to try new recipes from around the world, and especially to cook vegetarian and seafood dishes. Terry wants to be your fishing and trail guide. We both have a fondness for picking blueberries for your pancakes, or catching everyones dinner. The BBQ is usually hot. Terry is a professional videographer and editor. She has traveled throughout Southeast and the interior of Alaska with camera in tow. Karen is a teacher and excellent storyteller. Everyone is entertained when Karen is around. So Hello ..
