GUIDED RAFTING TRIPS - JUNE & JULY 2008 - you can raft the Hulahula, Kongakut, or Canning river in a group of two to six adults.

- Experienced wilderness guide Robert Thompson and his assistant will lead you on a ten day rafting trip. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for wildife viewing and adventure in the heart of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Robert is an excellent cook and story teller and his local knowledge of the rivers, land, plants and animals is sought out by photographers, journalists and scientists from across the planet. You will safely journey through a pristine arctic river valley where caribou, moose, grizzly bears, wolverines, arctic fox, musk ox and more than 180 species of birds still roam freely in the last great unspoiled wilderness of America. - Trips include: round trip airfare from Fairbanks, local air charter from Barter island into the Refuge, all meals while rafting, rafting equipment, cooking equipment and utensils. Price per person for 11 day raft trip is $4,000. 10% discount for groups of four or more. Base camp trip for dall sheep photography : For 6 day base camp trip is $2,500 per person, two person minimum, these trips begin from Barter Island (air fare from Fairbanks not included). 2008 schedule: June 6-10 (6 days) - Base Camp Hulahula River: only five spaces left! June 12-23 (11 days) - Hulahula River: only four spaces left! June 28-July 8 (11 days) - Canning River: only three spaces left! July 20-July 30 (11 days) - Hulahula River: only six spaces left! -Please reserve space now with a 25% deposit. Balance is due 60 days before start of trip. If you cancel more than 60 days before trip,a $200 handling deposit will be retain. If you cancel between 60 and 30 days before start of trip, 50% of depposit is returned. If you cancel within 30 days of start of trip, the deposit is non-refundable. Please send check payable to Kaktovik Arctic Adventures. - You will need to bring your own four season tent, sleeping bags, personal gear & clothing, cameras, etc. Weight limit for personal gear is 40 lbs per person due to capacity of local air charter from Barter Island into and out of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. You can expect the weather on Barter Island and in the Refuge to range from summer to fall, spring and sometimes winter conditions. - Please email us for a recommended list of gear and clothing you will need for a rafting trip.
