History of Minkemann & Associates
Russ Minkemann started his own firm in August of 1980. His independent spirit laid the foundation for what Minkemann and Associates is today. In 1981, Russ and partner, Mike Sanders, bought Thomas Walker's accounting practice. The practice included approximately 200 tax clients and three bookkeepers. In 1983, they merged with Donna Mathew's firm. This merger increased their bookkeepers to five and substantially increased their tax clients. In 1984, Mike sold his portion of the firm to Russ, and Russ became sole owner again. By now, the firm had grown to six CPA's four bookkeepers and two administrative assistants. In 1987, Serena Illk joined the firm and became a partner in 1990. In 1988, Nigel Guest also joined the firm and became a partner shortly thereafter.
The firm currently consists of three CPA's (Russ Minkemann, Serena Illk and Nigel Guest), one office manager (Cindy Semonis), and approximately 500 tax, bankruptcy, valuation, and financial statement clients.
