History

YourCleanEnergy LLC was founded in 2006 to meet the emerging market of clean energy consulting in Alaska. The firm secured office space in downtown Anchorage in January of 2007 and now shares the second floor of the Central Building at 308 G Street with the Renewable Energy Alaska Project and various architects and environmental consultants. Clients served by YourCleanEnergy include commercial, municipal, community, institutional and residential, with the primary service being financial evaluation and design of energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy systems. Many of our evaluations have led to grant funding opportunities and the implementation of cost effective clean energy projects. Some key YCE projects that have developed new approaches to renewable energy systems in Alaska are:

· First commercial solar hot water system design and installed in Anchorage since the 1980's. This flat plate solar thermal system was installed in 2008 and delivers more than 50% of the domestic hot water required for the Seth Downs tri-plex apartment in east Anchorage. Temperature and flow data is recorded every minute of each solar day and is available to the client 24/7 via dedicated internet web site.

· First community scale combination of solar thermal and wood boiler in Alaska. For the Ionia community of 25 persons in Kasilof, this flat plate solar thermal system provides solar heated domestic hot water from May thru September; and a high-efficiency wood boiler for space heat and domestic hot water from October thru April. Temperature and flow data is recorded every minute of each solar day and is available to the client 24/7 via dedicated internet web site.

· First commercial scale seawater heat pump system in Alaska that incorporates waste heat and supplies more than 50% of the annual building heat load. Using 37F to 52F seawater from ice free Resurrection Bay, this dual heat pump system was designed by YCE in 2010 for the 120,000 sq ft SeaLife Center aquarium in Seward, Alaska.
