"Warranty
items" include
the furnace and major appliances like your refrigeator and stove
that are covered by a manufacturer's or supplier's warranty. Like
a warranty on a truck or snowmachine, after a period of time --
typically a year -- the warranty expires. Report its failure to
BBHA during the warranty period and BBHA will replace or repair
the item. But if your furnace or boiler breaks down the day after
the warranty expires, fixing or replacing it is the homeoenwer's
responsibility.
A
kind of warranty also covers the structure and design of your
home which may extend through the normal structural life of a
properly maintained home. If, for example, snow collapses your
roof because of a contractor's mistake, the builder may be liable
to repair the damage.
But
imagine a different situation.
