Philip Freeman
Philip Freeman was born and raised in Alaska and
has been guiding in his home state for over 12 years. As a flyfishing,
river rafting and motorcycle guide, he has discovered many beautiful
and secret niches throughout the state, and enjoys sharing them
with adventurous souls who appreciate the majesty of nature. During
the past 6 years as owner and operator of Alaska Rider Tours, his
goal has been to find unique destinations at the end of long dirt
highways in the last frontier. A new place is discovered in each
trip, and every tour is different and intimate. While teaching English
in Japan, Phil fell in love with exploring the back roads by motorcycle.
In addition to Japanese, he speaks Spanish and Portuguese (his English
is pretty good too). Phil is trained in first aid and CPR, and is
an experienced, safe rider. He is also renowned for his flame-broiled
steaks and hearty breakfasts. Phil has traveled throughout the world,
but is always drawn back to the unparalleled grandeur of Alaska.
His home is Girdwood, a small ski town in the Chugach Mountains,
and where he has a cabin and several motorcycles ready to ride.
In addition to exploring special places throughout the state, he
loves to play chess, telemark ski and sea kayak in his "back
yard," Prince William Sound. Phil's dedication to providing
personalized service, attention to safety, and zest for adventure
make his trips unforgettable. He wants to take you on the ride of
your life!
