General
Information
We use dual-purpose motorcycles to access the long
dirt highways in Alaska. Without them, we would not be able to ride
over half of the highway system! And, we are able to get away from
crowds, RVs and buses. Add to this the thrill of exploring the literally
limitless side roads (many old gold mining roads), and you have
the ultimate machine for adventure! We use Kawasaki
KLR 650s and Suzuki DR 650s.
Both come equipped with Ortlieb dry bag saddle bags, wind screens,
and the Suzukis feature custom Corbin seats, for a more comfortable
ride. For our tours, we offer our guests an option to upgrade to
variety of BMWs, depending on availability.

Tour
Size
Camp Tours:
4 - 8 riders
B&B Tours:
4 - 10 riders
We pride ourselves for having a large staff/guest ratio. This way,
your adventure is personalized and safety is maximized. We ride
roads seldom traveled, with help being hours away, and usually out
of cell phone range. Our staff is trained in back-country first
aid and motorcycle maintenance.

Gear
Weather is a big factor in motorcycle touring
in Alaska. Please be prepared, as the weather can spoil or punish
you. The temperature ranges from 45 to 90 degrees fahrenheit. Bring
riding gear that is warm and waterproof (a riding suite with pads
is best). Stout boots, rain gear, rainproof gloves, hiking shoes,
bug spray, towel, full-faced helmet, and a good camera are the things
you need on the trail. Do not worry about overpacking during our
tours, the support vehicle is always there to carry everything.
And, should you run out of clothes, we are always near laundry facilities
while on the trail. I suggest Sealskinz waterproof socks and gloves.
I have also been very happy with the Darien riding suite I bought
through the Aerostich Warehouse.

Our
Staff
We pride ourselves for giving you a quality service.
All guides and staff are experienced riders and long time Alaskan
residents. Because many of the roads we travel are far from help
and out of cell phone range, our expertise in motorcycle maintenance,
back-country first aid, and knowledge of out of the way places will
greatly enhance your motorcycle experience in Alaska. Leave the
logistics to us. Our full time support vehicle makes it possible
for you to focus on the ride, the fresh air, and the scenery. We
will make your motorcycle trip to Alaska safe, personalized, and
unforgettable!

Experience
Dirt riding experience preferred,
but not mandatory. Some of the dirt highways can be challenging
due to weather conditions, so for the sake of your safety, have
at least some gravel or dirt riding experience.
|
Own
Motorcycle
We encourage riders to join our tours
with their own motorcycles. Generally, for those with their own
machines, we discount $100 per riding day off the total tour price.
|
|
Two-Up
We invite couples to come up and tour with us. We discount the passenger
$150 per day off the regular tour price for any tour.
|
Payment
We require a $250 deposit on Rentals
and $1,000 on all tours. All deposits are non-refundable, but are
transferable to another party. The balance for all rentals and tours
is due 60 days before start date. We accept personal checks, Visa,
Mastercard, and money orders.
