CONGRATULATIONS!

The Board of Directors and the Alaska Regional Office are pleased to announce two scholarship recipients, Mary Martinez and Spencer Reardon, for the 1997/1998 year.

Mary is pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering at the Alaska Pacific University. She has worked with tribal and federal organizations, in turn acquiring knowledge of community environmental needs. She is interested in environmental stewardship, and learning environmental laws and policies of different agencies that operate in Alaska.

Spencer is a first year student at Oregon State University, studying Wildlife Management. He is originally from Kotlik, and was co-valedictorian for his high school class. He has worked as a fisheries technician and spent a summer at San Francisco State University enrolled in the NASA SHARP Plus Program. They are both exceptional scholars, and we gladly extend our congratulations!
