British Isles Tour 2001

Day Four:  Saturday, June 30, 2001

8:30 a.m., Saturday morning in Anchorage:  An e-mail message from Roy Ireland arrived today!  He made his way to an Internet Cafe along with a small group of girls in the choir who wanted to e-mail home.  Roy reports that the PCs at the Internet Cafe are passive -- you can't download or upload or even print mail, so, although he's taken about a hundred pictures with his digital camera, we'll have to wait to see them at this website.

Roy reported that some of the kids were going to try to go for a ride on the "London Eye". (The world's largest observation wheel -- rising 450 feet above the river Thames -- from which you can see views of up to 25 miles on a clear day. The Eye is the fourth tallest structure in London and is a third taller than the Statue of Liberty.  It takes about 30 minutes to complete one cycle.)

According to Roy, "Starlight Express" was unusual, but fun!  Meals have been a bit of a disappointment because they have been served salmon, and will again tonight!  The kids want something different to eat. The weather has been great though.
