Adelheid Herrmann, Alaska Regional Coordinator – Native American Fish and Wildlife Society

Adelheid Herrmann is presently the Coordinator for the Alaska Region of the Native American Fish and Wildlife Society. In the past she has served as a regional director and on the society’s Board of Directors. She has a vast experience and continuing interest in advocacy of fisheries on local, national and international levels. Ms. Herrmann served in the Alaska State Legislature, House of Representatives for six years, chairing the House Special Committee on Fisheries and co-chairing the House Resources Committee. Ms. Herrmann was also a founding member of the Pacific Fisheries Legislative Task Force, serving with legislative representatives from California, Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
Gaining an understanding of the environment has always been a strong motivational force for Ms. Herrmann. Since the age of six, she has participated as a fisherman in Bristol Bay's world- class salmon fishery, and has also observed the herring and bottomfish fisheries. A personal goal is to see courses on the fishing and seafood industry made part of the curricula at all levels in Alaska's educational system. Ms. Herrmann has a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy/Fisheries and Native Studies and is working on her doctorate in Organizational Leadership.
You can contact her by e-mail at: herrmann@gci.net or nafws@hotmail.com

Shawna Trumblee Moser- Project Assistant

Shawna Trumblee Moser became a part of the Water Quality and Aquatic Environment Monitoring Project (WQAEMP) in November of 2001. Coming from a family of Alutiiq heritage, she was born in Homer, Alaska, and raised in Cordova. Shawna enjoys working closely with other Alaska Natives and learning about the different cultures from all around the state. The experience she’s gained through working for this particular project has helped her understand the importance of recognizing our connections with each other, and the effects we have on one another through water. Along with working as the Project Assistant for the WQAEMP, she is also the mother of a five-year old son.
