Two 24' Diameter Portable Domes Connected

1
. LOWER CONSTRUCTION COST
  • The efficient construction method involves less labor. A six man crew can build a 3000 sq. ft. secure concrete shell (including foundation, roof and exterior walls), in three to four weeks (plus time for mobilization).
  • More space can be enclosed in a dome shape with less surface area.
  • More than twice as energy-efficient as most conventional buildings, the dome needs only a fraction as much in heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.

2. FASTER CONSTRUCTION

The domes are sprayed-in-place on site. An air form of single-ply roofing material pre-fabricated to the specifications of the building is attached to a ring foundation and is inflated. Urethane foam is sprayed on the interior surface. A grid work of steel rebar pre-engineered for the particular building is attached to the foam shell. High-density concrete is sprayed over the interior, embedding the steel in the concrete.

  • Almost all construction is done within the inflated air form, allowing construction to take place generally uninterrupted by weather conditions.
  • Materials are ready available.

3. PERMANENT

When building a concrete dome you think in centuries, not years with a life span rated in the hundreds of years.

4. SAVE 50%-75% ON HEATING/COOLING COSTS

  • The externally insulated concrete creates a passive solar shell.
  • Overall temperature transfer R value approximates an effective R-70. (Fly wheel effect)
  • The monolithic dome is seamless and nearly airtight.
  • Five times more fuel efficient than conventional building, energy costs have been rising continuously.

5. LESS MAINTENANCE

  • No more -- Ice Dams
  • No more -- Leaking Roofs
  • No more -- Worry of snow loads and shoveling steep roofs
  • Very little painting to be done on exterior.

6. FIRE SAFE

  • As disaster resistant as rock
  • Will not burn down - Solid concrete exterior walls
  • Any damage easy to repair on exterior

7. SECURE

No better way to protect your family and loved ones
Built like a tank or under a mountain
The monolithic dome has survived them all:

  • EARTHQUAKES
  • HURRICANES
  • TORNADOES
  • 500 to 600 PSF compared to conventional 40 PSF

8. LOWER INSURANCE COST

Because less risk

9. BEAUTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SHELLS

"Round" - The worlds most perfect shape

10. Free Span hundreds of feet with no interfering beams and support post. The possibilities are endless.

11. The monolithic dome will meet or exceed the qualifications for a five star rated home by the Alaska Craftsmen Home Program.

12. Have been built in 40 states and 10 foreign countries on marginal soils because the monolithic dome leaves such a light footprint compared to other structures.
