Start the day with a buffet style breakfast.
The highway tour begins with approximately 300 miles of beautiful
Alaska terrain to travel. When you leave Sully's have your camera
ready. This may be your first chance to photograph a moose, bald
eagle or many species of ducks and geese. Travel through Wasilla,
the hay flats and along the Knik arm and Chugach State Park on
your way to Anchorage. You may have the opportunity to photograph
a Dall, sheep, mountain goat, bald eagle, glaciers and beluga
whale as you follow the scenic Turnagin arm and Chugach State
Park through Girdwood and Portage into the mountains on the Kenai
peninsula. Watch in awe at the view of the scenic mountains, valleys
and blue-green waters of glacier fed lakes and streams as you
travel from Turnagin Pass into Seward. Once in Seward, enjoy touring
the downtown shops and the Seward Boat Harbor while a hot lunch
is prepared for you. You may see a sea otter or harbor seal in
the Seward Boat Harbor. Once lunch is completed view more of the
awesome beauty that Alaska has to offer. Look for Dall sheep as
you enter Cooper Landing. See the blue-green waters of Kenai Lake
and the mighty Kenai river. Wildlife abounds as you travel through
the beautiful mountains and valleys on the way to Soldatna. There
are many more opportunities for photographs on the way to Anchor
Point.
