A Fisherman's Paradise is the only way to describe the fishing experienced on the Kenai River. You'll wonder why you waited so long! The Kenai River and surrounding waters have established records for both King Salmon and giant Pacific Halibut and consistently produce unparalleled sport fishing action. Nowhere else can you find as productive salmon angling that targets two separate runs of each species of King, Silver and Sockeye salmon and a tremendous run of Pink salmon on even numbered years in one river! Angler's options are limitless when fishing with Wes' Guide Service. Try your luck for the mighty King, acrobatic Silver or highly prized Sockeye salmon. Include a day of fishing for giant Pacific Halibut. Spin or fly fishing for wild, native Rainbow Trout is yet another option. Depending on tides, Cook Inlet's famous razor clams are available for the digging.

The season begins in mid-May with one of the most productive King salmon runs in all of Alaska. These tackle busting monsters average 30 to 50 lbs with fish to 90 lbs caught annually. In mid-June, the first run of Sockeye salmon have entered the river and on the 15th, Rainbow Trout season opens. Late June brings in the second run of King salmon and around the 10th of July, a second, larger run of Sockeye salmon begin arriving by the thousands. In late July and continuing through October, Silver salmon make migrate into the rivers of the Kenai Peninsula. Silvers are famous for their tackle smashing strikes and aerial antics. Halibut are available throughout the entire fishing season.
