Indian Health Service. Under severe time constraints to meet the opening date of their new hospital in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, the Indian Health Service (IHS) contracted ITECH, a PMCT joint venture, to provide the turn-key installation. Utilizing the local workforce, PMCT completed the project in a mere 30 days, acquiring all components and systems and installing all cabling, a Rolm Model 50 switch with more than 450 ports, and a paging system.
Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC). The high cost of telephone calls over the public network prompted ASRC to seek a less expensive communications service. PMCT analyzed the need and engineered a private switching network, lowering ASRC's costs by installing a Harris telephone switch, Shared Resource Exchange telephone network, four satellite earth stations, and voice and data lines. The new system spans 800 miles and links 13 ASRC subsidiaries located in Barrow, Prudhoe, Fairbanks, and Anchorage, Alaska. The project was finished ahead of schedule and under budget due to skilled engineering and excellent customer coordination. PMCT currently maintains this network for ASRC.
Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA). PMCT installed and maintains a SmartNet II 800 MHz radio system, providing wireless coverage for GVEA operations throughout the Fairbanks area in Alaska's Interior. We enlisted vendor services to design the most efficient system available for the customer's needs. PMCT was very responsive to the customer's initial requirements, as well as customer-requested modifications once the project was underway.
Municipal Public Safety Office, North Slope Borough. PMCT installed and maintained a SmartNet trunk radio system, working effectively against a short timeline in Arctic conditions to meet strict Government standards.
Maniilaq Association. PMCT, as part of the joint venture Inupiat Technologies, installed voice and data cabling for a ROLM telephone switch at the Maniilaq Hospital in Kotzebue, Alaska. The Maniilaq Hospital is the largest hospital in Northwest Alaska, with more than 100 beds and state-of-the-art medical technology and equipment.
Arctic Sivunmun Ilisagvik College. This Harris Digital Telephone System is capable of voice, data, video, and DS-1 Primary Rate Interface ISDN connectivity. PMCT also installed a radio base station and mobile radio system for the college to provide ubiquitous communications throughout the campus.
North Slope Borough, Barrow, Alaska. In 1986, PMCT equipped the North Slope Borough with the first Motorola SmartNet Trunked Radio system in Alaska. It was upgraded in 1992, and presently serves various borough divisions. This $2 million system is the lifeline of the community.

Valley Hospital Association. In a joint venture, PMCT installed a voice and data cable system for two hospitals of the Valley Hospital Association - the Valley Hospital in Palmer, Alaska, and the West Valley Medical Center in Wasilla. The hospitals required a high-speed data cabling system meeting EIA/TIA 568 Category 5 standards. The installation consisted of six hubs connecting 250 high-speed telephone and data outlets via fiber optic cable. PMCT performed installation, testing, and documentation, equipping the customer with a quality product capable of providing video teleconferencing, and high-speed computer data and imaging.
Office of Environmental Health and Engineering (OEH&E). When OEH&E moved to a new location, PMCT installed a complete telephone and voice mail system with SMART data and voice cabling system. PMCT also maintains this Shared Resource Exchange telephone switch and the cabling system. We wired the new building for telephone and data services, and moved OEH&E's existing switch, upgrading it for Direct Inward Dialing and for voice mail, and enabling the customer to receive voice mail messages from remote Alaska villages.
