When Should I be worried?
Developmental Milestones
Is your child:

  • Pushing up on his/her arms and holding his head up by 3 months?
  • Babbling by 6 months?
  • Sitting with support and with a straight back and head up by 6 months?
  • Sitting without support by 8 months?
  • Crawling by 9 months?
  • Pulling to a stand by 12 months?
  • Using 1-4 real words by 12 months?
  • Walking independently by 15 months?
  • Using 50 words by 2 years?

If your child is not doing these things by the age indicated, it may be wise to bring your child in for a screening.
Screenings are available any time of year by calling PIC, and are also available at citywide school district Child Find screenings, held 5 Saturdays a year.
