A Celebration of the Life of Our Daughter

Katie Dorothy Laubenstein

Dear Katie...

April 9-16, 1996

A little angel came to earth to visit one day.

She didn't have much time to stay and play.

Katie stayed a week and the time just flew!

She brought such joy to all she knew.

Katie taught us to make every moment count.

The quality of time matters, not the amount.

Each day is a gift to be unwrapped with care

And enjoyed with others, whose love we share.

Now Katie is gone, but her spirit remains...

To help us cope with life's aches and pains.

Katie's our angel in heaven above...

After leaving us the gift

of everlasting love.

Our friend Jan sent us this poem, adapted a bit for our daughter.

Virginia Woolf wrote:

"The beauty of the world has two edges,
one of laughter, one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder."

Having such a wonderful, healthy, beautiful vibrant and strong daughter... and then to have her die suddenly in her sleep, leaves us with a daily ache and a wishing larger than all the world that she could be with us and be experiencing life... and her little brother.

SIDS.

It steals a future and a big part of all involved.

We hope you'll support efforts for SIDS Research and organ/tissue donation. Give the Gift of Life.
