Phatz Ski Rental is a small ski shop catering to the backcountry and heli-skiier visiting Valdez, Alaska.  We like to give you personal service in selecting the right equipment for your epic day of skiing.  We rent and sell a wide range of mountain safety equipment for skiing, snowboarding, and snow machining.  We're more than happy to answer any questions on the items we carry.

Don't worry about about your 205 giant slalom skis.  Leave them at home.  For an enjoyable and safe ski vacation in the Chugach Mountains you need big skis. The heli skiers are doing 20 - 30,000 vertical feet a day with bottomless powder.  If you like working up a sweat on your old skis GO for it.  If you want the floating feeling of being on top of powder instead of thigh deep, then try fat skis.   As the Chrysler ads says "Wider is Better"!

.....don't forget, heli-skiing outfits require avalanche beacons, harnesses and snow shovels.  Conditions almost dictate the use of fat parabolic skis. So don't worry about lugging your skis around the world. Rent the best at Phatz!
