Building Bridges Campaign for Mental Health
Mailing List Information Page
The Mailing List
The mailing list is moderated by Wil Hostman, Jan's McGillivary's assistant. It is hosted by ONELIST.COM. Note that if you subscribe, you will get advertisments with the messages; this is how ONELIST supports themselves. They provide the service at no charge to us.
The mailing list's goal is to provide for a means of distributing information and discussing the Building Bridges Campaign for mental health. All members of the Alaskan Mental Health Community are welcome, including Providers, Consumers (Primary and Secondary), Advocates, Administrators, and legislators.
The Coordinator for the Building Bridges Campaign is Jan McGillivary.
Bridges Activities
The Building Bridges Campaign has several activities, the most important being the Bridges Fly-In to Juneau. Each year, the Building Bridges Campaign flys consumers and advocates in to Juneau, the state capitol, to meet with legislators, attend workshops, and advocate for a better mental health system in the state of Alaska. We both provide training in mental health advocacy and provide an opportunity for advocates to meet with legislators. While some scholarships are made available each year, many attend at their own expense.
The Building Bridges Campaign also holds training throughout the year in advocacy, and presents certain materials of interest via various means.
