AC3 Downloads

This page contains Surround-Sound mixes
of songs by Hammy & the Technoids.
These digital audio files are formatted in DOLBY digital .ac3 format.
To play them back properly you will need to install an .ac3 decoder.
(This is one I use and it's awesome. Plus it's
free. It has lots of programmable parameters,
and believe me, you'll want to change some of
them, because all of our listening rooms are not
as perfect as some lab where they set these
programs up. Get the decoder here.)

Logitech makes a fairly nice set of 5.1
surround speakers for around 100.00.
You might even find them on sale somewhere.
Install the ac3 decoder and hookup the speakers.
You will be ready to listen to 5.1 surround sound

For those who have Raspberry Pi units,
there is a program called "OPENELEC".
This program can be installed on the Pi
and then by loading some .ac3 files
(such as the ones available below)
onto a USB thumb drive, you will be able to
play the surround sound songs.
To get the full surround experience,
the HDMI output must be connected to a
media receiver that provides 5.1 surround
decoding through the HDMI ports.
Then in the settings for OPENELEC,
make sure that the audio output is set
to the 5.1 audio setting. If this setting is not
set to 5.1, you will only get a stereo playback,
even though the file is fully encoded for surround
playback. Setting the audio to 5.1 is
