This beautiful lavender wildflower has been listed as a threatended species in Alaska. Even though called the Yukon Aster (Aster yukonensis), it is found along the banks of the Koyukuk River which we raft on the Gates of the Arctic Expedition. If you enjoy flowers, you would love seeing this rare one. |
