WHAT'S NEW AT PARKER PRODUCTIONS?
This is the area that we use to keep you informed of our latest developments. Not one to sit on our laurels, we ALWAYS have new and innovative ideas "on the drawing board." As these ideas come to reality, we will keep you posted here.
MARCH 2002
Thanks to the many, many wonderful people using our bullets, as well as major "players" wanting to feature our products, PARKER PRODUCTIONS is experiencing GROWTH EXCEEDING OUR WILDEST EXPECTATIONS! As a result, March has been a BUSY month for us to include the following:
* We completed the purchase of a lead header bullet- making machine. Working with Jim Bell, of MAST Technologies, Boulder City, NV, we have found a machine that has the capabilities of producing up to 6,000 bullets an hour!! We also purchased another type of machine that will help in the production of our new bullet, still in the prototype stages at this time. We expect both these machines to be fully integrated into our production for the 2002 season.
* We received a bid for, and will be expanding our manufacturing facilities in Moscow, Idaho. This growth is welcomed, as well as challenging, as we strive to meet the demands for our products. We are looking forward to utilizing our expanded facilities in time for the 2002 season production.
With the growth we are experiencing, we are fully committed to our customers' needs, and will not compromise the quality that you've come to expect from PARKER PRODUCTIONS. We look forward to keeping you posted as to our progress, and in filling your bullet needs in 2002 and beyond!
FEBRUARY 2002--CABELAS!!
PARKER PRODUCTIONS is pleased to announce that we have established a relationship with CABELAS! CABELAS will be offering our bullets beginning in the FALL 2002 CATALOG! They have placed an initial order for 25,000 HYDRA CON™bullets, the absolute, most efficient hunting bullet available to today's demanding muzzleloading hunter. We are grateful for CABELA'S nod of approval and look forward to a long relationship with them.
We are also having much interest shown by BASSPRO SHOPS, as well as GANDER MOUNTAIN, and will keep you posted as our efforts progress........
FEBRUARY 2002
TOBY BRIDGES, muzzleloader guru for SAVAGE ARMS begins testing a new PARKER PRODUCTIONS prototype bullet. Toby is testing this bullet in the new SAVAGE M10 ML II, capable of shooting smokeless powder. As soon as these prototype bullets have been fully tested and "wrung out", we expect to include them in our lineup. More on that later.........In the meantime, below is the initial results Toby was able to achieve........
FROM: TOBY BRIDGES--SAVAGE ARMS, INC
Bob and Dwain,
Friday evening, I ran each bullet across my RCBS electronic/digital scale and sorted them out by the tenth of a grain. I was impressed to see that except for 4 of the 134 bullets received, the rest of the batch were within 5/10ths of a grain. I've found that production run projectiles such as Hornady generally run a full grain from high to low. And even the all-copper Barnes bullets are usually more than 5/10ths of a grain from high to low. The four that were more than 5/10ths of a grain were 6-8/10ths.
I shot three groups with the hottest powder I shoot--Hodgdon LIL'GUN. My first group barely measures 3/4-inch center to center, my second group was 1 1/4-inch across and my final group was the tightest shot all day----5/8-inch center to center.
In all, I shot 9 groups Saturday morning with the Hydra-Con bullet...and my worst three-shot group still was only 1 3/4-inches. Discount that group and the average for the remaining 8 would be only 1.043-inch---which is the absolute best "average" I've ever shot with the Model 10ML II with the same bullet ahead of a variety of powders.
Looking at the bullet and comparing it with bullets of similar shape, length, weight and diameter, my guess would be that the bullet you sent me would have a ballistic coefficient of around .200. If that proves right, we've already topped significantly the downrange performance of the bullet I've had my best overall performance with up til now....and that would be the Hornady 250-grain .452" XTP which has a b.c. of just .147.
Pushing the bullet you sent me out of the muzzle at 2,335 f.p.s with 40 grains of LIL'GUN generates 3,242 ft. lbs. of muzzle energy. Thanks to the b.c., the bullet would still be flying at 1,890 f.p.s. at a hundred, with 2,125 lbs. of energy. When it reaches 200 yards, the bullet would still have 1,575 f.p.s. and 1,474 lbs. of energy.
In other words, it would hit game with about 425 MORE ft. lbs of energy than the 250 XTP.
So far, I am very, very impressed with what I see.
Thanks,
Toby Bridges
S.H.O.T. SHOW FEBRUARY 2002
We attended the Shooting and Hunting Outdoor Trade (S.H.O.T.) Show in Las Vegas. While there, we met several industry "heavyweights" already using PARKER PRODUCTIONS bullets. Additionally, we established new contacts with some wonderful manufacturers and hunters. We were well received and really appreciate the overwhelming interest and support for PARKER PRODUCTIONS bullets. The list reads like a who's who of the industry:

FALL HUNTING SEASON 2001
Great reports have been pouring in from all over the country describing the FANTASTIC RESULTS muzzleloading hunters have experienced this hunting season! Some truly magnificent animals have been taken using PARKER PRODUCTIONS HYDRA CON™ bullets! We are very pleased with the predictable, outstanding field results from our bullets. To view some great animals taken this season, click here.
I have witnessed the most awesome performance and killing efficiency using PARKER PRODUCTIONS bullets, than with any bullet I have ever shot before! We have been able to capture the most devastating kill scenes on camera to date. Whitetail deer literally ripple from chest to hips when hit with the HYDRA CON!
Mark Drury.......Drury Outdoors |
We expect to see videos featuring PARKER PRODUCTIONS bullets available beginning the first half of 2002.
SEPTEMBER 2001
We are pleased to announce that Mark Drury, of DRURY OUTDOORS and M.A.D. CALLS, has taken a great Kansas whitetail with his muzzleloader using PARKER PRODUCTIONS HYDRA CON™ bullet! Mark reports devastating terminal efficiency delivered to his buck at 120 yards! His website is located at: www.druryoutdoors.com Additionally, we recently heard from Jimmy Primos, of PRIMOS CALLS, that he had successfully taken a Colorado elk with one shot, also using a HYDRA CON! His elk was shot at 20 yards, and he reported that the inside of his bull was demolished! PRIMOS CALLS can be seen at their website at: www.primos.com As soon as these well-known outdoorsmen provide us with pictures, we plan on posting them here. We have a strong list of "who's who" in the hunting industry using the HYDRA CON™bullet this season. As the reports pour in, we will relay the results here. We really appreciate everyone using PARKER PRODUCTIONS bullets in their muzzleloaders and Sharps-type rifles. We truly belive the HYDRA CON™has superior killing efficiency over any other bullet available!
AUGUST 2001
In August 2001, we hosted two different caribou hunts in Alaska. Mark Drury, of DRURY OUTDOORS and M.A.D. CALLS, sent 2 videographers to hunt caribou with a muzzleloader, using the HYDRA CON™ bullet. Both John O'Dell and Dave Reisner got great bulls, with outstanding terminal performance from their bullets. Mark Drury produces some of the finest outdoor videos available today. He plans on making a feature video from this Alaska caribou hunt. His website is located at: www.druryoutdoors.com
Later in August, Bill Woodin hunted with well-known writer, Bob Robb, for caribou. Bill took a great bull with his muzzleloader as well. Both of these hunts can be seen in detail by clicking here.
JULY 2001
In July 2001, we put our new swaged Hydra Con™through an expansion testing. Pictured below, you'll see we lined up eight gallon milk jugs filled with water. We shot into the jugs from 25 yards, using 2 pellets of Pyrodex powder (100 grains), generating a velocity of 1338 fps. As you'll note from the picture below and right, the initial impact was very impressive! Even more impressive was the fact that the bullet PENETRATED 7 OF THE 8 JUGS OF WATER!! We recovered the bullet from the 7th jug! This equates to 30-INCHES OF PENETRATION IN WATER! Most impressive is what the recovered bullet looked like after retrieving. The bottom picture reveals an unfired bullet and our recovered bullet, with a quarter for comparison. Our recovered bullet expanded to a diameter of 29/32" X 1 7/32"!! THIS BULLET IS ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATING ON BIG GAME!!
Also in July 2001, we introduced a prototype jacketed Hydra Con™. Pictured below is our 390 grain bullet. The fired bullet on the left in each picture was pushed by 100 grains of powder. While the bullet on the right in each picture was charged with 130 grains of powder. Note the excellent retention as well as expansion these recovered jacketed bullets exhibit.

100 YDS--5/8" GROUP! 530 GR ROUND NOSE PARKER PRODUCTIONS TRADITIONAL HUNTER |
SODA SPRINGS, ID WINNER! 1000 YD BUFFALO SHOOT 535 GR SPIRE POINT PARKER PRODUCTIONS TRADITIONAL HUNTER |
Bob,
My first two attempts with your bullets impressed me greatly! Enclosed is one of my targets shot at 100 yards with a Parker Productions 530 grain round nose. As you'll note, this is a 5/8" group! I had a 10+ mph crosswind blowing the day I shot these. The 535 grain spire point bullets shot equally as well.
Furthermore, I'm enclosing a picture of me with my .45-70 Sharps and the trophy I won May 19 & 20. I competed in the Baker Ranch, Idaho, Buffalo Shoot. I WON THE 1,000 YARD COMPETITION, PLACING 3 OUT OF 5 SHOTS IN THE KILL ZONE ON THE BUFFALO!
I look forward to shooting your bullets in future competitions. I can't wait to use the Hydra Con this hunting season!
Sincerely,
Richard Langedyke
An enthusiastic Parker Productions shooter!

ORIGINAL EXCEPT STOCK LOAD--120GR FFG TRADITIONAL HUNTER 600 GR HP NEW SWAGED BULLET! |
In March 2001 we tested our "New Swaged Bullet" line. As you can see by the results, they did extremely well! The advantage to swaging vs casting is the uniformity in configuration, density and weight. The bullets we are now producing average less than 1 grain variance in weight and no variance in dimension!
The cast bullets are and will continue to be available. They have performed extremely well for the past 16 years and they will continue to do so. As with the cast, all swaged bullets will be "moly coated" and we strongly suggest the use of our "moly wads". The swaged line will come in both Traditional Hunter (Hollow Point) and the Hydra Con™.
Take one look at these photos, and you'll see we are SERIOUS ABOUT OUR BULLETS!!
Good Hunting!
