Philosophy
We believe that dyslexia is a significant obstacle to classroom performance,
not an insurmountable barrier. Consequently, we do not teach students ways
to get around their dyslexia, or excuse them from the demands of learning.
Instead, we teach students to optimize their strengths, and deal realistically
with their limitations, so they can perform successfully in any educational
environment.
We view students with dyslexia as exciting individuals who generally set
high standards for themselves both in the area of character development
and academics. We applaud students' desire to do and be their best, and
provide numerous opportunities for them to do so.
As part of requiring the best of students, we support the value and dignity
of individual spiritual needs and beliefs.
