Relatives visit Mr. Mrs. Holdway

 

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Holdway in the Bruners Grove section has been the scene and place of of lots of good eats and place of much fine fellowship with relatives from far and near in recent weeks.

 

First there was Mrs. Holdway's brother, Isaac Dawson and his wife Leona Ottinger Dawson, Cleveland, Ohio. They also visited Mrs. Dawson's sister in Greeneville.

 

On Sunday there were approximately 25 relatives gathered at the home for a picnic dinner.  Last week Mrs. Holdway's cousins from LaMesa, California, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Edwards visited the Holdways for a first visit to Tennessee since Bob was about six months of age, some fifty years ago.  The Bob Edwards were pleased and happy in the East Tennessee hospitality of which no finer variety is found in Cocke County, Mr. Edwards said.  They had been in Canada for the wedding of a son.

 

The Charles Robesons who lived a few years in Parrottsville had visited Bob Edwards some years ago and had told of the country and people in this part of the country.  While visiting Cocke County the Edwards visited the Robesons for a few days.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Edwards left for their home traveling west through Denver and other points of interest declaring "we hope to return again before too long"
