To get to the start of the 50 Miler from Anchorage (A), take the New Seward Highway to Girdwood (B).  From Girdwood, continue on the New Seward Highway to the Hope Wye (C).  From the Hope Wye, continue on the New Seward Highway to the intersection with the Sterling Highway (D).  Proceed on the Sterling Highway to Cooper Landing (E) and thence to the Start.  It takes about 2 hours to drive from Anchorage to the start at legal speeds.

To get to the finish of the 50 Miler and the start/finish of the 100 Miler, go to the Hope Wye (C).  Take the Hope Highway almost to Hope (F).  Proceed up the Palmer Creek Road (dirt) to the Couer d'Alene Campground finish.
