studio Janet Elson began her career as a potter by taking a couple of workshops in Anchorage in the early 1970's. Soon after, she started selling at Renaissance and craft fairs.  Twice accepted to Earth, Fire and Fibre: The Biennial Alaska Juried Craft Exhibition at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, Janet has continued to be innovative with her craft.

Janet and daughter, Marianne, started to work together in the early 1990's and sold their
pottery at specialty gift stores and galleries in Anchorage such as Artique, Habitat, and Design Craft.  They acccepted Nancy's invitation to join her at Ozarks in 1994.  They continued to sell at the above mentioned galleries for about six months until deciding to just sell exclusively at Ozarks.
