Wellhead Control Systems
The petroleum industry has long been a target for criticism from
environmentalist groups
for its perceived negative impact on both local and global
ecology. Modern-day
technological advancements, however, together with
environmentally focused production
guidelines and standards, have enabled the industry to rise above
this perceived image and
succeed as one of the most responsible and important industries
in the world. Wellhead
Control Systems, which use a combination of hydraulic and
electrical power to monitor
wellhead flow conditions and close the well down in the event of
an emergency, are an
extremely important part of responsible petroleum production.
Dowland-Bach has been designing, building, testing, and
installing Wellhead Control
Systems for the extreme conditions of Alaskas North Slope
since its birth in 1974. Oil
giants such as British Petroleum and ARCO have relied on, and
continue to rely on
Dowland-Bach Wellhead Control Systems for the monitoring and
control of their North
Slope holdings. In addition, since 1994 Dowland-Bach has been
producing and installing a
new breed of solar powered Wellhead Control Systems in Colombia,
South Americas
Cusiana and Cupiagua oilfields, currently under development by
British Petroleum.
