NASA, USC, BSC, DTC Brief History( v6, shortest )
2005 - Relatively new president Jeff Deity makes a shocking proposal during his state of the union address. Following in president John Kennedyıs footsteps, Deity announces that he would like to see men on Mars before 2015. NASA becomes a flurry of activity as funding surpasses that of the 1960ıs and moral skyrockets. 2012 - NASA lands men on Mars, and makes plans to reach Alpha Centauri, the star nearest Earth, before 2075. Funding unexpectedly continues strong, and advancements continue at a faster pace. The government begins investing more money into the space program, and sends itself further into debt. 2034 - As man becomes more comfortable with space travel, a group of twenty three completely untrained people go to Mars, and live there for 4 years. Proving that anyone could go into space now, NASA begins sending the first of seven hundred ships to Mars, with the hope of populating it. 2046 - NASA splits into three groups, the Universal Space Council, Biology Space Council, and the Distance Travel Council. Each requires twice the funding of the previous organization, and the government is feeling pressure to cut off money flow. BSC is told to find alien life to increase public funding. 2086 - First eight man ship reaches the outer-most planet of Alpha Centauri after 18 years of space travel. Public funding quadruples, and the USC decides to send three more ships immiedately. 2153 - Complete documentation on each planet finishes. Complete findings are published in USC Documentation Volume 1. After discovery of three sentient alien races living on two planets in the Alpha Centauri system, government enslaves each to cover giant costs. The national debt is now at 623 trillion dollars, and other countries are threatening war. Complete government history can be found in Government History Volume 3. 2185 - After several discoveries in Mars, new forms of fuel are developed. Human development speeds, as the world ignores space travel again. Technology on Earth begins to move again, and funding decreases. 2265 - Trips to Alpha Centauri become commonplace. There are now seven hub planets, in which 89% of the population live. Full documentation can be found in USC Documentation Volume 2. End brief history. |
