• 1 stick butter
• 1/2 cup Crisco
• 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 cup chopped pecans
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• 1 cup craisins
• 3 cups oats
• 1 tsp. orange peel (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugars; beat in eggs and vanilla till light and fluffy. Add flour, soda, cinnamon, orange peel (if using) and salt; mix well. Stir in oats, craisins, and nuts. Drop by rounds onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 min. till almost golden brown, careful not to over bake. Cool 2 min. Move to a wire rack. Makes approx. 4 dozen.
