1 cup powdered sugar 2 tsps maraschino cherry juice
1/2 tsp almond extract
few drops red food coloring
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped and drained maraschino cherries
48 drained whole maraschino cherries
Heat oven to 350. In large mixing bowl blend margarine, powdered
sugar, juice, extractand food coloring. Stir in the flour and salt. Stir
in chopped cherries.Form dough into 1" balls and place 2" apart on
ungreased cookie sheet. With knuckle of one finger make indentati9ns on
each ball. Bake 8 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Remove
from oven and immediately top each cookie with whole cherry. Remove from
sheet to cool. (48 cookies)
