Arctic Circle Camp Tour

        Saturday June 28th - Saturday July 5th, 2003 
         
        Join us to the Arctic Circle! 
        There is something about crossing the Yukon River on your way north! Leave 
        behind civilization, and ride through untouched nature, as you have never 
        experienced before! This tour is for those who want to see the “Real 
        Alaska”….the untamed north!This is an eight-day/seven night 
        tour starting and ending in Wasilla (40 miles north of Anchorage). The 
        first and last nights will be B&B, with 5 nights of camping along 
        the route. This tour covers a vast distance, and takes us to the Arctic 
        Circle and back. Along the way we have a chance to see Mt. McKinley, cross 
        the Yukon River, and ride along the Alaska Range on our last great dirt 
        highway, the Denali Highway. During the six days of the tour we will cover 
        a total distance of 1,220 miles, 771 miles of that being paved and 449 
        miles of dirt. (This does not include various side trips of exploration.) 
         
         
         
        Itinerary 
       Day 1: Transfer from airport to Wasilla (45 
        minutes north of Anchorage). Dinner in the town. Stay in comfortable B&B. 
         
        Day 2: Ride from Wasilla to Nenana. Chance to see Mt. McKinley and cross 
        the Alaska Range. Camp in Nenana. 236 miles paved. 
         
        Day 3: Ride from Nenana to Yukon River. Short stop in Fairbanks. Ride 
        the Dalton Highway north. Cross and camp near Yukon River. 87 miles paved, 
        100 miles dirt. 
         
        Day 4: Yukon River to Arctic Circle. Stand at the Arctic Circle. Return 
        to Yukon River. Camp near Yukon River. 118 miles of dirt. 
         
        Day 5: Ride from Yukon River to Delta Junction. Pass through Fairbanks. 
        View of Alaska Range from the north. Camp in Delta Junction. 226 total 
        miles. 170 paved, 56 miles dirt. 
         
        Day 6: Ride from Delta Junction to Gracious House on the Denali Highway. 
        Cross Alaska Range, and head west on the Denali Highway. Views of mountains 
        and glaciers all day long. Camp on Denali Highway. 162 total miles. 100 
        miles paved, 62 miles dirt. 
         
        Day 7: Ride from Gracious House on Denali Highway to Wasilla. View of 
        Alaska Range from the south and chance to see Mt. McKinley. Stay in comfortable 
        B&B in Wasilla. Dinner out on the town. 192 total miles. 142 miles 
        paved and 50 miles dirt. 
         
        Day 8: Transfer to Anchorage International Airport. Many great memories 
        to be enjoyed!
