DISCOUNTED SOFTWARE

Information excerpted from the ONE/Northwest website. Having current software is essential to getting the most out of your computer. Unfortunately, many of the major application programs are quite expensive, often costing up to several hundred dollars. Many major software manufacturers have corporate philanthropy programs through which they give away software to nonprofit organization. Some of the participating organizations include Adobe (PageMaker, Photoshop, Acrobat, PageMill etc) and Symantec (Norton Utilities, Norton Antivirus, WinFax etc).

Adobe’s Philanthropy Council hotline can be reached at (408) 536-3993. Guidelines and procedures can be found at their website at: http://www.adobe. com/ aboutadobe/ philanthropy/main.html

Symantec does not have a formal philanthropy program, but have donated products. They can be reached at: Symantec Corporation, 175 West Broadway, Eugene, OR 97401, (800) 441-7234 (US and Canada only), or by fax at (541) 984-8020.
