DECEMBER GIS TRAINING

The Alaska Regional Office is planning a geographic information system (GIS) technical training workshop. We tentatively have it scheduled for the 2nd week in December. The training will include both lecture and "hands-on" computer time. It will provide an introduction to the capabilities of GIS technology. We anticipate the training running 2 full days. This workshop is free, but there may be a nominal cost to cover printing expenses. Space is limited, so please reserve your spot early. We are looking for datasets or coverages that we may use as examples. We have also recently acquired a copy of ArcView 3.0. Anyone interested in getting some hands on experience with the program is welcome to drop by our office. We are located on the first floor of 707 'A' Street, across from the Federal Building in downtown Anchorage.
