Choir members who have been in the Mastersingers for at
least one year, and/or have the permission of the Choir Director, may progress into the
Chambersingers. Chambersingers continue to emphasize musicianshp, vocal technique, and music
theory. Once in the Chambersingers, students begin to sing in foreign languages, and to work
with multiple-part songs. This group performs at the annual Spring and Holiday concerts, at
some community functions, and events that require the attendance of the entire choir membership.
Chambersingers rehearse together for two hours each week, plus an extra two hours on a
Saturday every month.
Once the child has gained musical ability and experience, he may wish to proceed to the next
level, Jubilate.

You are listening to "Ca'
the Yowes",
a traditional Scottish folksong with lyrics by Robert Burns.
The Alaska Children's Choir performed this song for the Spring 2000 concert.
This midi version of "Ca' the Yowes" is from the Hawthorn
Elementary School website.
