Mrs. Ireland was born and raised in South Africa. She earned a Teaching degree at Grahamstown Teacher Training College in South Africa, where she studied music, piano and voice. She sang in her School, Church, and College Choirs and served as Church Organist.
Glennis has been affiliated with the Alaska Children's Choir since 1989. Glennis has chaperoned numerous choir tours and serves as Chaperone Co-ordinator for Choir concerts.
Glennis is an avid gardener and enjoys hiking, reading, and working as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. She lives in Eagle River with her husband, Roy, and daughter, Kathryn.
