The Alaska Conservation Foundation is hosting several free training events at the Cambell Creek Science Center in Anchorage. Fund-raising for Social Change, September 19 - 20. Kim Klein is the author of Fund-raising for Social Change and the Grassroots of Fund-raising Journal. She will teach how to build financial support by grassroots members and major donors, and will be available to organizations on an individual basis by appointment.
Dealing with Despair - An Antidote to Burnout, October 16, 17, 18. Annie Prutzman of the Institute for Deep Ecology will present this workshop based on work by Joanna Macy, a well known philosophy professor, nuclear activist and Buddhist.
Managing for Change - Finances Made Easy, November 12,13. Terry
Miller, consultant of non-profits financial management, will make the
nasty, unavoidable business of financial statements and fiscal management
interesting and fun.
